Winford
Warren
Biography
Winford Warren was born in Athens, Alabama back in them old cotton fields back home.
Warren experienced an abysmal early childhood career in sports (he was the only catcher in the tee-ball league; when baseball came calling, he was placed out in right field where the ball never came, but in case it did miraculously fly to him, the coach assigned two players in the hopes that one of them would know what to do; he made one shot in basketball: during practice, while taking a free-throw; and he was the only diver who bellyflopped into the pool...every time).
Once in the third grade, Warren's teacher, Mrs. Davis, cast him as Bert in the class production of Mary Poppins. His mother noticed something different about this activity: He learned everyone's lines, knew everyone's music, and took his costume, makeup, and props very seriously. That's when the realization set in that he could be good at something! Warren continued his childhood acting in numerous community theatre productions, and at age 14 began directing and producing plays himself.
After graduating high school, Warren moved to New York to study acting for film and television at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, where he worked with his mentor, Christine Lavren.
He currently resides in Los Angeles, California with his two cats, Jock & J.R.
